So, sometime that weekend, I will be sharing something for that experience. I will also be sharing a "Best of 2018" blog sometime this week. Best Match, Best PPV, Best Wrestler, Best Character, Most Improved... No "Worst Of..." awards. Only sticking with positivity. UnWrest (NXT, 12/19/18)- Black vs. Gargano in a Steel Cage

Tonight, we're getting a Steel Cage match between Johnny Gargano and Aleister Black. Thankfully, it's not a Parking Lot Brawl. Aleister Black wouldn't stand a chance in that one. NXT Thoughts (As It Aired Thoughts)\ - Io Shirai starts off the show as she comes to the ring to team with Dakota Kai. They face off against Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir (The Horsewomen) who are making their NXT in-ring debut. Duke and Shafir still seem a little green in terms of not really doing anything above basics, but that stuff comes with experience and time. This was fine for whte it was. Shirai hits a couple impressive moves. Shockingly, Shirai and Kai get the win over the Horsewomen. I thought they would give an ultra-push to the Horsewomen for a few months, but telling by the performance in the ring, management probably felt that having them win wasn't the right call. Again, this is far from a judgment on Shafir or Duke. On the contrary, this is just a step in hopefully the...

UnWrest (SmackDown, 12/18/18)- Ali Benefits from "Change"

We are in Night 2 of the "Shake Up." Let's see what actually changes. SmackDown Thoughts (Written LIVE as the show progressed) - Shane gives a pep talk to the roster about the changes brought by last night's announcement on Raw. Paige is no longer the GM of SmackDown Live, but she is being given a new role (unannounced). A "Thank You Paige" chant erupts from the wrestlers. I really hope that they find something for Paige to do that substantive. I don't want to see her just every month on a Kickoff Show panel. - Becky Lynch comes out to the ring. She doesn't care who is running the show: She runs the show. She doesn't do corporate meetings. She handles her business in front of the fans. All she wants from the McMahons is Ronda Rousey. Lynch is angry about Rousey interfering in her match and not having the decency to face her. She calls Rousey a "Roddy Piper cosplayer." Wow.   Charlotte Flair comes out next. "Speaking of co...

UnWrest (Raw, 12/17/18)- Change You Can't Believe In

This is how you shake things up?! Without further ado, let's get this done and over with. Raw Thoughts (Typed Live As it Happened) - Vince McMahon comes out to a thunderous ovation. And he gets booed as soon as the music stops. Vince puts over the fact that Raw has been on the years for 25 years. Vince says "he can't do it all by himself." Here comes Stephanie McMahon. (By the way, Vince looks terrible tonight.) Loud boos from the crowd. And here comes Triple H to a thunderous pop to "King of Kings."  And here comes Shane McMahon. Oh boy. What's going on here? Hugs going around for everyone. Loud Shane O'Mac chants. Stephanie apologizes for not doing a good job. They haven't been listening to the fans. They're going to change things up. Absentee management is over. The four of them are taking back Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. They are going to give the fans what they want. Something new, something fresh. New faces, new supersta...

WWE TLC 2018 Review- Tables and Ladders and Chairs, Oh My!

HERE WE GO!    Pre-Show   1) WWE Cruiserweight Championship   Buddy Murphy (champ) vs. Cedric Alexander   They started this match early. Apparently, they wanted just as many fans in the arena as there usually are in 205 Live matches for this to give it the authentic feel.   The bell rings. A lot of tie-ups and switches to start up the match to a good reaction from the crowd. A Loud 205 Chant. Alexander takes down Murphy to the floor. Really good back and forth action here with both men moving quickly. Alexander catches Murphy with a dropkick for a 2 count. BIG KNEE to the head of Alexander sends him to the floor. Murphy flies off the top rope and hits a Meteora (maybe that’s what they were going for?) for a 2 count. Murphy has the advantage for a few moments, including a power choke on the corner on Alexander. He jumps off it to eat a SUPERKICK to the chest. Crowd seems invested in the matc...
