G1 Climax 28 Coverage Announcement + SMACKDOWN LIVE TWEETS

What's up everyone? Unfortunately, there isn't a G1 Climax show today. Yeah, I know. It's sucks. The G1 is like anything you get addicted to. When it's not there, you miss it all that much more. I will be back with G1 coverage tomorrow. But on August 8th, I won't be posting any coverage of the A Block after the show airs. I know it sucks. I'm sorry. I just can't do any coverage of the show after it happens.  Because I'm going to post coverage of the show AS IT HAPPENS! That's right, folks  Here, exclusively on UnWrest, I'm going to do LIVE coverage of the A Block, B Block, and G1 Climax Finals on August 10th-12th. Be sure to check out this page, if you are awake around that time, for the coverage. Of course, if you check on the page at a later time, you should still get the live coverage feel. (Expect more on the level of my ROH Best in the World coverage than the other G1 Climax coverage I've given though. Since it will be live, I can

Live Raw Reactions on Twitter tonight....

Decided to start dusting off the Twitter account and use it for now on. So, if you follow me at https://twitter.com/cdub1898, I will be providing live Tweet responses during tonight's Raw. (Don't worry. I won't be doing play-by-play commentary for the show. I'll let Michael Cole do that while plugging 10,000 items for Raw). You should see this post on there when you click on the site: I hope to see you all there. Don't worry. I'm still covering Raw on Thursday in a quick review on UnWrest. This is just something extra if you want to follow along.

Kazuchika Okada vs “King of Darkness” EVIL - G1 CLIMAX 27 - NJPW World M...

Besides Omega vs. Okada in the B Block Finals that year, this is probably my favorite match of the G1 Climax 27 tournament. It made EVIL in one night as he defeated the unstoppable, unbeatable Okada, giving The Rainmaker his first loss in about a year. Check this out, fellow wrestling fans. And tell me what you think. (Note: This video may not be available after a week as NJPW takes down their free videos sometimes. So, be sure to check this out sometime between 7/30 and 8/6/18.

G1 Climax 28- A Block- Night 11- EVIL/SUZUKI WAR!, ELGIN/OKADA, The Ace is #1

Other than drinking coffee, I've been listening to Break the Contradictions by Men on a Mission, the G1 Climax 28 Theme, to get hyped for these last few shows. They say the cream rises to the top. Well, starting today, the cream of each conference will start rising in each block as we near the final events. Today is the 6th show in the A Block, and here are the standings before this show starts: A Block Standings After Night 9 EVIL (8 Points) Hiroshi Tanahashi (8 Points) Jay White (6 points) Minoru Suzuki (6 points) Kazuchika Okada (6 points) Bad Luck Fale (4 points) Michael Elgin (4 points) Togi Makabe (4 points) Hangman Page (2 points) YOSHI-HASHI (2 points) Here are the A Block matches scheduled for today: Kazuchika Okada vs. Michael Elgin Minoru Suzuki vs. EVIL Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yoshi-Hashi Jay White vs. Hangman Page Togi Makabe vs. Bad Luck Fale Who will be in the lead after tonight's show? Could several of the bottom feeders of this block fin

UnWrest Focus: Batista vs. Drax: How will Dave Bautista Be Remembered?

Welcome to a special look at Batista. Or is it a special look at Dave Bautista, the actor? I'll let you decide as I present the first UnWrest Focus, a blog post where I will look at the career of a wrestler and offer an opinion based on their work. For the pilot of this type of post, I am focusing on Dave Bautista, the former wrestler turned Hollywood actor. As we know, Bautista has been a mainstay of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014. But before then, he was The Animal, Batista. But which is larger than the other? Is Batista still his claim to fame? Or has Dave Bautista, through his work primarily as Drax The Destroyer, overshadowed his former persona? Let's take a dive in to this guy's career, shall we? _ _ _ A History of Batista in WWE Batista is a name familiar to any WWE fan. From 2002-2010, Batista was the resident big man in the WWE locker room. When first introduced to the mainstream WWE fan, Batista was a deacon cohort of Reverend D-Von on Smackdown. Bu

ROH HONOR FOR ALL Review (July 20, 2018)- Bucks/Addiction/Briscoes Match Saves Show

What's up everyone? I'm a little late to getting to this show with vacation and 10 nights of G1 action to follow, but I'm now getting to this ROH show. (Note: It was either this or Extreme Rules. And I heard Extreme Rules wasn't all that great. So, ROH won for me.) I'm going in cold with no idea who is wrestling who, and I have no idea if this will set up anything for the future. With that in mind, HERE WE GO!!!!! Remember, folks, this PPV is an exclusive property of Ring of Honor Wrestling.  Just keep that in mind as we go on. Thank You Obligatory Warning! ROH PRESENTS HONOR FOR ALL LIVE FROM NASHVILLE! Triple Threat Tag Team match: Bucks vs. Briscoes vs. Addiction. PLUS Nick Aldis defends the NWA (?!) World Championship against Flip Gordon. First up is Scorpio Sky facing Punishment Martinez for the ROH World Televsion Championship. 1) ROH World Television Championship Punishment Martinez (c) vs. Scorpio Sky In a pre-recorded interview, Scorpio Sky promis

RIP to Nikolai Volkoff and Brian Christopher

Just read the news that was rumored all day: Brian Christopher, Grand Master Saxay of Too Cool fame and Jerry The King Lawler's son, passed away today.  Here's a link to the website that confirmed what many of us read about in the dirt sheets... https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/brian-christopher-former-wwe-wrestler-dies-at-46-in-apparent-suicide/ar-BBLdvRc?ocid=spartanntp This is an incredibly sad situation. Brian had a long history of substance abuse problems. WWE even one time used Brian Christopher in a very uncomfortable segment on WWE programming during the Michael Cole/Jerry Lawler feud. He was arrested just a couple days ago for a DUI, and then he was found hanging in his jail cell. You absolutely hate hearing this about anyone with issues like he had. My condolences to Lawler's family and those who knew him. My favorite memories of Christopher obviously include him with Scotty 2 Hotty and Rikishi doing their post-match dances that lit the crowd on fire. Too C

Website Update and Thank You

What's up everyone, First, I just wanted to thank each and every one of you who have checked out this blog and/or have shared it. Today, the blog will reach 1000 views. Considering I haven't done much marketing for this, and it only started a little under two months ago (with 2 weeks off during vacation), I think that's a really cool thing. I am grateful to all of you for checking this out. The road to 2000 begins. Again, let me know if you have any comments, questions, ideas, or suggestions. My goal is to continue posting regular wrestling blogs in the weeks and months ahead. One idea I've had is that I may end up posting more semi-daily news reactions as we get to the end of August. As for this week, I will continue to provide G1 Climax 28 commentary on each show. I am also preparing to do a commentary on the ROH show that happened a week or so ago and posting that as soon as I finish watching it. I'm also considering going back to watch Extreme Rules, but I

G1 Climax 28 Half-Time Report- Best and Worst of The First 10 Nights

What's up everyone? With the G1 Climax now just over halfway done and with each block having 5 nights each, I decided to go ahead and throw together a G1 Halftime Report for you. Sorry. No scantily clad cheerleaders, overblown lipsyncing from musical artists, or Terry Bradshaw's bald head to entertain you. Don't leave!!! Lol. I'm going to do the best I can to give you a status report on what's happened thus far, my picks for best matches and wrestlers thus far in each block of the tournament, and the top matches I am looking forward to in the next 2 weeks. _ _ _ _ A Block A Block Standings (After Night 9) EVIL (8 Points) Hiroshi Tanahashi (8 Points) Jay White (6 points) Minoru Suzuki (6 points) Kazuchika Okada (6 points) Bad Luck Fale (4 points) Michael Elgin (4 points) Togi Makabe (4 points) Hangman Page (2 points) YOSHI-HASHI (2 points) Thoughts on A Block: 1) I am surprised Okada is not tied for first at this point. A couple months ago, he w

G1 Climax 28 - B Block- Night 10- Ibushi and Ishii STEAL THE SHOW; Sanada vs. Omega Delivers...

Today's show should be interesting as B Block could tighten up into a massive cluster if the right results happen. Here are the standings as the stand coming into this show: B Block Standings (After Night 8) Kenny Omega (8 Points) Tetsuya Naito (6 Points) Sanada (6 Points) Kota Ibushi (4 Points) Ishii (4 Points) Hirooki Goto (4 Points) Zack Sabre Jr. (4 points) Tama Tonga (2 Points) Toru Yano (2 Points) Juice Robinson (0 points) Here are the matches for today's B Block action: Kota Ibushi vs. Tomohiro Ishii Kenny Omega vs. Sanada Tetsuya Naito vs. Hirooki Goto Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Tama Tonga Juice Robinson vs. Toru Yano If Omega loses to Sanada and Naito beats Goto, we've got a three way tie at the top of the points score. Sanada, in that situation, gets the tie breaker over Omega in a tie. But if Naito later beats Sanada and the three way tie happens at the end of block action, I guess Naito would get the tie breaker? Looking at the card, this should b
