News Reaction: The Heyman/Bischoff Hires Part 2: 5 Ways to Change The Norm

**Note: I have decided to cancel the originally planned Part 3 of this series. It was going to be a mock draft for each brand, but that may be premature given that it was announced that both Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have been advertised to appear on their respective brands this week. So, I'm going to hold off on Part 3 until we get a clearer picture of what is going down with the (possible) new order of things. ** There is a cautious optimism among wrestling fans after the announcement of the Heyman/Bischoff appointments as Executive Directors of Raw and Smackdown, respectively. Fans are rightfully skeptical (as I am) that change will be coming and that Vince won't just do what Vince has done lately.  There are many things WWE can do in order to freshen up their stale, unhip product as it goes into both a wrestling war and a new business venture with FOX starting in October. These are just 5 things I would like to see WWE keep in mind or do as they "attempt" t

AEW Fyter Fest 2019 Review- Outdoing Their Greatness Already

**Note: This will be continuously updated live during the event. If for some reason technical difficulties (internet outage or electric) interfere, a full review will be posted ASAP.** AEW Fyter Fest Orlando, FL June 29, 2019 Pre-Show - Gotta be honest. My review for tonight might be a little more favorable after having to watch last night's ROH Best in the World the whole way through. I feel bad for ROH. It's like watching a team that you know is struggling. And you want them to succeed so much. But they can't stop stumbling over their own feet. So, I'm looking forward to AEW providing a quality program tonight. - AEW's show starts with a video showing the producer talking about not getting the permits to get the ring inside the building. Lol. But it looks like everything is well in AEW. They are using the same set from Double or Nothing. Excalibur is joined with two different commentators for tonight. Interesting. - The main event is the Non-Sanctio

AEW Fyter Fest Predictions

After watching Ring of Honor stumble through Best in the World last night, I'm looking forward to seeing a wrestling company with a sense of urgency and life put on a show tonight. (Here's hoping I don't have the rolling blackouts and internet problems like I did yesterday. I apologize in advance to any of you checking the blog live tonight if that does occur. I'll get the review up ASAP if that happens.) Before the show starts, here are some predictions for tonight's show: Pre-Show - Private Party defeats Best Friends and SCU (Kaz and Sky) to get the opportunity to compete for a 1st Round Bye in the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament. - Kylie Rae defeats Leva Bates - Alex Jabailey defeats Michael Nakazawa in a Hardcore Match. Main Show - Nyla Rose defeats Yuka Sakazaki and Riho in the Women's Triple Threat Match. - Christopher Daniels defeats Cima - Adam Page defeats Jungle Boy, MJF, and Jimmy Havoc in a Fatal Four Way Match. (You have to keep The

ROH Best in the World 2019 Review- They're In Trouble

**This is planned to be a live blog post of the ROH Best in the World PPV tonight. My area has been experiencing some rolling blackouts. So, I may miss some of the event or lose access to the internet during the show period. If that happens, I'll watch the show and post the review as soon as I can Saturday morning.** Update: 9:10AM Saturday: I am watching the show after having internet and power turned off and on all last night. I'll be adding my thoughts on here as my viewing of the show goes on. A full review should be up by 2PM today. Update: 1:27PM- The show is finished. The review continues below.  _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Before the show even gets started, here are some quick predictions for the card: Pre-Show: Rush defeats Flip Gordon Main Show Kelly Klein and Jenny Rose defeat The Allure Nick Aldis and his partner (TBA) defeat The Briscoes Lifeblood defeats Villain Enterprises for the ROH World 6-Man Tag Team Championships Jay Lethal defeats Kenny King Dalton C

News Reaction: The Heyman/Bischoff Hires Part 1: Change We Can Believe In?

I was doing something for my day job when, during the lunch break, I got a Twitter notification that Ryan Satin, of Pro Wrestling Sheet, reported that Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman were named to Executive roles in WWE. ( http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/paul-heyman-eric-bischoff-wwe/ if you want to read the full article.) Paul Heyman will be the Executive Director of Monday Night Raw while Eric Bischoff will be the Executive Director of SmackDown Live (insert your own joke about Eric Bischoff representing the "blue" brand; a joke you would get if you listen to his podcast). According to the report, their roles will be similar to Triple H with NXT. And they will both report to Vince McMahon who will have final say. I want to be overly excited for this. But history teaches us to both be excited and nervous at the same time. Here are a list of pros and cons I see in this possible situation. Pros - Paul E. (Dangerously) Heyman... Super Genius. When it comes to creative, you

SmackDown 6/25/19- Diet Raw; Someone Picks a Fight with Aleister + WE FOUND SHINSUKE!

Ready for Diet Raw? Let's do this. SmackDown Thoughts - We start with a recap of the Shane/Drew/Roman/Undertaker segment from last night's Raw. We see Shane backstage cutting a promo. Roman's fate was inevitable last night. So, Roman called on The Undertaker. Shane's looked into the face of death and survived before. Shane rushes through his promo and reminds the SmackDown roster not to get on his bad side. Because, tonight, he's pissed. (I liked that promo. Shane was rushing through it like a madman, but it got the job across.) - The New Day (all three of them) come out. And Kofi's still throwing pancakes to the crowd like your favorite midcard wrestler. Kofi puts over his journey in the last few months including the ups & downs. They replay Joe's attack on Kofi from last night. Kofi is not going to be eaten alive by the shark that is Samoa Joe. And here comes Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says he's not going to let someone just walk out and take his

Raw 6/24/19- The Best Wrestling in the World...according to Seth Rollins (Live Thoughts)

What's up everyone?   I've decided to do a live Raw reaction tonight. No photos. No graphics. No special features. Just honest reactions to the moments on Raw as they happen. Also, to be honest, doing this will give me an excuse to watch this 3 hour show.  Seth Rollins put the gauntlet down yesterday and today, proclaiming this as the best wrestling on the planet on Twitter. Any World Champion should say that about his company. But there's a catch to it: You better back it up. Last night, 2/3 of the PPV was very good. Ironically, it was the last hour and the two world championship matches which brought the show down. And while I won't blame Seth Rollins for that fact (which, it is a fact. Sorry if you disagree. Watch the fans' reaction yesterday. That's all that matters in the end. Go ahead. This will still be here to say "See? Told ya."), it is an example of the disconnect in programming that WWE has had for a while now. So, starting at 8, check
