HOG Culture Clash '19- Some Good Action + Muta and Tajiri

Ok. Why the hell am I watching this? Because Muta, Tajiri, Pentagon, Fenix, LAX, Low Ki, and others. Plus, this is just a random buy for one of the independent shows for the WrestleMania 35 weekend.  I'm going to butcher names since I don't know most of the roster. So, be patient. And let's have some fun. HOG Culture Clash 19 New York City, New York 4/6/19 1) Casket Match Smiley vs. Leroy Green Green shows some good thleticism early on including a good Reverse Rana. Green tries to put Smiley into the casket early on, but he can't close the lid. Smiley gets sent over the casket into the guard rail. Then he gets sent into the ring. Smiley gets the advantage in the ring and hits a couple big senton like moves on the back of Green's back. A kendo stick is brought out by Smiley and used on the back of Green. Smiley assaults him with the Kendo Stick over and over again. Green finally gets the Kendo Stick and starts hitting Smiley with it. Green tries to dive through t...

ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard Predictions

The biggest night in the history of two promotions is here. Here are my predictions and thoughts on the show Pre-Show Kagetsu, Jenny Rose, and Hazuki vs. Hana Kimura, Shella Grey, and Sumie Sakai I have no idea who is going to win this. But I've learned over the year of following ROH somewhat regularly to never bet against Sumie Sakai. Therefore, I'm going with Sakai, Grey and Kimura Prediction: Sakai, Grey, and Kimura Honor Rumble It's always hard to predict who is going to win a battle royal. That being said, there are two men I see right now on the Honor Rumble list that could win this: Jushin Thunder Liger and Jonathan Gresham. I'm going with Liger for the feel good story. That is, unless Minoru Suzuki makes a surprise appearance. In that case, I'm going with Suzuki. Prediction: Liger Main Card Title for Title Will Ospreay (NEVER Openweight Champion) vs. Jeff Cobb (ROH TV Champion) This is the hardest match for me to choose from. On one hand, I c...

NXT TakeOver: New York- A Clash of the Champions

How can you not love NXT for nights like tonight?  Every championship is on the line, and we are guaranteed a new NXT Champion by the end. Let's do this! NXT TakeOver: New York Brooklyn, New York 4/5/19 1) NXT Tag Team Championship War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) (c) vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet The bell rings. Black and Rowe start off the match with some counter-wrestling. Both men refuse to go for the knockout blow on the other early on, instead showing the other some respect. They fistbump. Then Hanson and Ricochet enter the match. War Raiders get sent to the floor, and Black and Ricochet sit down for a pose in the ring. WAR RAIDERS COME BACK IN AND FLIP OVER THE BACKS OF BLACK AND RICOCHET! Nice. Tandem offense by Black and Ricochet puts Rowe down, but Hanson gets some offense going against them. Hanson slams Rowe onto Ricochet, and Rowe goes to work on Black. Aleister Black and Ricochet go to work on Rowe, but Rowe fights off Black with a big knee. Tag to Hanso...

Quick NXT TakeOver: New York Predictions

1) War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) (c) vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet Tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship Let's be honest here: Aleister Black and Ricochet are going to the main roster after this. This will be a fun match. The War Raiders can more than hold their own on a big stage. They'll put on a great match with Black and Ricochet, and they will retain their NXT Tag Team Championships. Prediction: The War Raiders 2) Pete Dunne (c) vs. Walter Singles match for the WWE United Kingdom Championship How long has Pete Dunne had this championship? Almost 2 years? It's time for a change. I'm calling it: Walter is going to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship. I've never seen a Walter (or WALTER, as people tend to type it) match before. So, I'm interested in seeing what he and Pete Dunne do. Prediction: Walter/WALTER 3) Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair vs. Kairi Sane Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Women's Championsh...

NXT (4/3/19)- A Pre-Show for NXT TakeOver

This episode might as well have been the Pre-Show for NXT TakeOver. NXT Thoughts (4/3/19) - The War Raiders start off the show as they take on two jobb.... enhancement talents. "Let's Go Jobbers" chants from the crowd. Whatever you want to call these two, they were eaten alive by the War Raiders who tossed them all over the ring and beat them in around 45 seconds. The War Raiders get on the mic. They want to deliver a message to their opponents: "You don't have to listen. You just have to watch. Bring out the next team." Their next opponents are Cezar Bononi and Adrian Jaoude. (At least these guys got an entrance, music, and names for God's sake.) Hanson and Rowe make short work of these guys as well. Rowe hits a Powerbomb/Powerslam combination on his opponents. Fallout connects. 1-2-3. That match lasted a minute, I think. (Impressive. They beat four guys no one has ever heard of back to back that probably combined weighed about as much as t...

NXT (3/27/19)- Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals

I'm getting caught up on NXT shows here in anticipation of Friday (4/5/19)'s NXT TakeOver: New York. This episode has the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic along with a confrontation between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano before their 2/3 Fall NXT Championship Match. NXT Thoughts (3/27/19) - We start off with Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano having an in-ring confrontation about their match at NXT TakeOver for the vacant NXT Championship. Cole calls out Gargano to get this faceoff going. Split crowd chants for about 90 seconds. Adam Cole tells the crowd to shut up and that he doesn't need their support. Johnny Gargano loves the chants himself. The chants kick back in again! Gargano mocks Cole for being at a loss for words. They go back and forth cutting each other down. Cole calls Gargano a failure that doesn't deserve this spot. Gargano counters by saying that he had to scratch and claw for what he has earned whereas Cole was given it once he came into NXT...

Update on the Blog- Time Restraints + WrestleMania Weekend

What's up everyone, As you may have noticed, the coverage on the blog has lessened the last few weeks. There are a lot of reasons that have caused this to happen. I've honestly had a lot on my plate the last few weeks that has made me make priorities in terms of what gets covered on here. Then, there's also the fact that this weekend, I will basically be doing nonstop coverage Friday-Sunday on the blog. AND I'm doing that with an important event in the day job coming that following week. So, here's the deal: I'm going to scrap Ring of Honor coverage for right now in terms of the weekly coverage. I will be covering the NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard show from Madison Square Garden. And hopefully, after that and things start calming down on my end, I'll be able to pick back up coverage. Another issue frankly with this has been my disinterest with some of ROH's storylines. It makes it hard to validate my time watching it if I'm not enjoying it. The episodes I...
