Quick NXT TakeOver: New York Predictions

1) War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) (c) vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet
Tag team match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

Let's be honest here: Aleister Black and Ricochet are going to the main roster after this. This will be a fun match. The War Raiders can more than hold their own on a big stage. They'll put on a great match with Black and Ricochet, and they will retain their NXT Tag Team Championships.

Prediction: The War Raiders

2) Pete Dunne (c) vs. Walter
Singles match for the WWE United Kingdom Championship

How long has Pete Dunne had this championship? Almost 2 years? It's time for a change. I'm calling it: Walter is going to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship. I've never seen a Walter (or WALTER, as people tend to type it) match before. So, I'm interested in seeing what he and Pete Dunne do.

Prediction: Walter/WALTER

3) Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair vs. Kairi Sane
Fatal 4-Way match for the NXT Women's Championship

Is Shayna being called up to the main roster? That's my big question going into this match. If not, I think she's going to retain. But if she is, I might have to go with Bianca Belair. Belair is my choice to get the championship by default basically. I can see a scenario where the three opponents of Belair are no longer in NXT after WrestleMania Weekend. Baszler is main-roster ready. And Io Shirai and Kairi Sane might be brought up to challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. However, Belair is still not there to be on the main roster. So, she might get the championship by process of elimination.

Prediction: Bianca Belair

4) Velveteen Dream (c) vs. Matt Riddle
Singles match for the NXT North American Championship

Velveteen Dream just won the NXT North American Championship. He's not going to lose it THIS early, right? Wrong, bro. Velveteen Dream can probably handle losing the championship, but I think Riddle will suffer a bit by losing to Velveteen Dream. Riddle's a guy that needs to be kept strong going into the rest of 2019. Dream would make a great candidate to challenge for the NXT Championship going forward this year. So, I'm going for a Bromission to end this match and cause the title switch.

Prediction: Matt Riddle

5)  Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole
Two-out-of-three falls match for the vacant NXT Championship

IF Johnny Gargano were wrestling Tommaso Ciampa, as originally scheduled, I would be going for Gargano to win this match. BUT things have changed with the insertion of Adam Cole into this match in place of the injured Ciampa. While Johnny Gargano has had the spotlight and the attention on him, Adam Cole has at times seemed lost in the shuffle and an afterthought on NXT TakeOver cards. Adam Cole needs this match in some ways. It would validate his NXT journey to finally attain the highest championship on the brand. Johnny Gargano doesn't need the championship and would benefit from continuing to chase Cole for the championship.

Prediction: Adam Cole (Bay Bay!)

Be sure to check out this blog later tonight for a review of the event. And stick around this weekend as I will review the RevPro event, the HOG Culture Clash 19 show, the G1 Supercard show tomorrow night, and WrestleMania 35. If I have time, I'll post some thoughts on the WWE Hall of Fame as well on Sunday.

Until next time, take care of yourselves. Spread some awesomeness.

UnWrest Focus REWIND: Vader vs. Cactus Jack (WCW Halloween Havoc, 10/24/1993)

Spin the Wheel, Make The Deal. That was the gimmick going into this iconic match between two of the hardest hitting wrestlers of all time. It was the storyline months in development: Cactus Jack had just returned after Vader mauled him with a battery of injuries and a concussion to get his revenge. Vader, a merciless monster who delivers pain and punishment to all his vicitms, faced Cactus Jack, the one guy who would take Vader's assault and like the orphan Annie would ask for more. And if Vader wanted to brawl, no one could take Vader's offense and return it in spades quite like Cactus Jack. So, WCW billed the match as "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal." The idea being that the actual stipulation of the match would be determined on Halloween Havoc by the spin of a big wheel. (If only wrestling could take the "Big Wheel" from The Price is Right. And of course, we'd have to make sure it goes all the way around.) So, the wheel landed that night on a Texas D

WCW Spring Stampede 1994 Review- WCW At Its Best + Flair/Steamboat In Another Classic

It's WCW in early 1994. We're now working up the hype for the eventual debut of Hulk Hogan to the company. This seems like the final last gasp of what WCW was prior to Hogan's debut with the company. Tonight, we are getting WCW World Champion Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat 5 years after their classic feud (covered on UnWrest Focus earlier). We are also getting International World Champion Ravishing Rick Rude vs. Sting. We also have Steve Austin defending his U.S. Championship against The Great Muta! And Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne go to war with The Nasty Boys in a Chicago Street Fight. Here we go! Mean Gene Okerlund welcomes us to the show as fireworks go off. We're in the Rosemont Horizon in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Aaron Neville sings the National Anthem holding on to as many harmonies and vowels as he can. Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan put over the main event. 1) Johnny B. Badd vs. Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Diamond Doll) Badd comes out dressed like
