WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 Review

What's up everyone, It's the sequel to WWE Super Showdown as WWE presents the first ever Stomping Grounds event. Will this be an annual thing or go the way of "Great Balls of Fire?" We'll find out later. Anyways, stay here throughout the night if you are reading live (or keep reading if you are seeing this afterwards)  as I am providing live thoughts of the show. WWE Stomping Grounds Tacoma, WA June 23, 2019 Pre-Show - A preview is shown of Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston in a Steel Cage Match. This doesn't feel like a WWE Championship match. Rather, it feels like a Raw 2011 mid-card match for the United States Championship. And worse at that. At least 2011 had Vickie Guerrero at ringside yelling "EXCUSE ME!" - In a cool bit, Booker T is in the steel cage showing off the cage for the pre-show audience.  That was a cool visual. - Coach is so much better on the Kickoff Panel than he ever was behind the announce table. If WWE does ge...

WWE Stomping Grounds 2019 Preview and Predictions

As much as I've detested WWE programming in recent months, I will be watching along with the rest of you. Because I know there are a couple matches on this show that will at least merit a one-time watch. If you are expecting an all-time classic on this show, to quote Wade Barrett's old gimmick, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. Here's a preview of the sequel to the latest Saudi Blood Money show. Let's get this disclaimer out of the way: Goldberg will not be dropping anyone on their heads today. Also, no lockers will be harmed in the making of this Pay Per View production. Now that I've covered that, let's talk about the sequel to the Saudi Blood Money show. Steel Cage Match WWE Championship Kofi Kingston (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler I know that Kofi has won basically every match since WrestleMania, or rather the ones that actually mattered. Still, I wouldn't call beating a defanged Kevin Owens or Dolph "Pin me, Pay me so I can yell IT SHOULD B...

G1 Climax 29 Preview- The Best Month in Wrestling Is About to Begin

It's that time again. LET'S GET THAT G1 CLIMAX MUSIC GOING!!!! Finally, something in wrestling other than AEW to sink my teeth into as a wrestling fan. (I know, I know. I should have been more excited for Goldberg vs. Undertaker. Did someone ask Goldberg if he's hurt any more lockers this week? Just kidding.) The G1 Climax has been a tournament that over the past two years has gained, merited, and captured my interest. The G1 Climax works like this. 20 Men, 2 Blocks. Each block is in a Round Robin tournament, meaning you must wrestle each of your opponents in your block once. You earn 2 points for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. The man with the most points in each block at the end will compete in a final match. The winner of that match will be declared the winner of the G1 Climax tournament and will receive a contract for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match at New Japan's biggest event: Wrestle Kingdom held annually from the Tokyo D...

Reviving UnWrest

What's up everyone? As you can probably tell, I've been off the blog for a couple months now. Call it burn out. Call it work. Call it life. Call it bad TV. Whatever you want to call it, the fact is I'm not going to let the blog die at this point. However, I am going to change it back up again. Here are the changes going forward: 1) WWE TV and Event Reviews are going to be condensed into 1 weekly review going forward. Why? Because WWE has literally sucked the life out of my fandom for the last 2 months. Just being completely honest about it. I'm bored with it, and I'm not going to spend too much time reviewing something that doesn't frankly merit it. (Don't get me started on the Firefly Funhouse. I know people with microphones are loving it. I'm not one of them.) I will revisit this decision once I feel that WWE merits the attention of a show-by-show review. NXT might even get more attention in those posts than Raw or SmackDown. 2) ROH is getting ...

SmackDown 4/23/19- Owens Is Apparently A Waffles Guy

Kevin Owens is now truly back. We missed you, KO. (I'll save Kevin Owens the burn: I know you didn't miss us. And we aren't worthy. Lol.) SmackDown Thoughts 4/23/19 - Shane McMahon comes out first. After he gets the ring announcer to do the over-the-top introduction, he goes on a tirade about Roman Reigns punching his father last week. Instead of fining, suspending, or firing Roman Reigns, Shane calls out Roman Reigns to "settle it in the ring." Roman comes out to a good ovation from the crowd. Roman has a mic and just throws it away. Shane does the same. Elias distracts Roman allowing Shane to start striking Roman. Roman starts beating down on Shane until Elias comes back into the ring to beat down on Roman with Shane. Elias hits Drift Away on Roman, allowing Elias and Shane to walk off. (Decent enough segment. I guess it shows Elias's alliance with The McMahons. This was basically to help set up a likely match at Money in the Bank. I'm not sure...

Raw (4/22/19)- Who Gets Burned Down at Money In The Bank?

There's a whole lot of SmackDown Live infused into Raw going forward. Let's see how the show changes as a result... Raw Thoughts (4/22/19) - Seth Rollins and Triple H come out first. (Dark Thought that came through my head was "Oh God. Seth is hurt, isn't he?") Seth puts over his accomplishment at WrestleMania, as does Triple H. The crowd is ridiculously hot for its homestate boy, Seth Rollins. Triple H puts over the fact that everyone is gunning for Rollins and the Universal Championship. Money in the Bank is brought up. Seth promises never to let anyone cash in Money in the Bank on him again.  They bring up the Triple Threat Matches mentioning it as if it is a big announcement, which Michael Cole/Kevin Dunn already brought up in the intro for this segment. Samoa Joe comes out and declares himself a member of the Raw roster. Samoa Joe tells Seth that he has room for another championship on his shoulders. Cue the trope of interruptions of wrestlers sayin...

WWE WrestleMania 35- Breaking Through Barriers

Well, here it is: WrestleMania 35. The women will be THE Main Event of this show. But there promises to be a ton of other great memories to take away from this show. This will be a live blog coverage of WrestleMania 35. Instead of doing move for move, I'm posting thought by thought for the matches but still giving my overall review of the match itself. Let's do this.... WrestleMania 35 Met Life Stadium (New York/New Jersey) 4/7/19 Pre-Show At 5:21pm, our first match is starting! WWE Cruiserweight Championship Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Tony Nese - The arena is half empty. THIS IS A 205 Live Match!!!! - The wrestlers are coming out from a entrance further down the ramp than the actual entrance. - These guys start immediately after the bell rings. - Nese screams about this being his WrestleMania moment. Pre-Show, Tony. Pre-Show. He's trying to hype up the crowd, and no one cares yet. - A gasp comes from the crowd when Nese gets dropped over the turnbuckles. An...
