ROH Best in the World 2018 Predictions

(Disclaimer: I have not seen the ROH TV show as of 6/27/18. Therefore, the following predictions are based on the card as of that date.)

Three-Way Match for the ROH World Championship
Dalton Castle (c) vs. Cody vs. Marty Scurll
- Here's where your title change of the night takes place. Castle has been battling some lingering injuries, and I think he's done enough with the title to hold his head high. But here's where it gets tricky: Cody and Nick Aldis have already agreed to have an NWA World Championship match at the big All In event in September. But if Cody wins the ROH World Championship, the match becomes Title For Title, Winner Takes All. So, it seems like a no-brainer to have Cody win the title to defend it against Aldis at his own event, right? Enter Marty Scurll, The Villain. Marty has been embroiled with Cody in a feud over the title with odd moments of tension between the two. And of course, Marty has been involved in this whole Bullet Club Civil War thing going on (though he's been Team Cody the whole time). I am going to predict that Marty Scurll pulls the upset and wins the ROH World Championship to throw a monkey wrench into all this planning by Cody. Then, it adds much more tension for Cody to maintain his belief that he leads Bullet Club. Then, Cody faces Kenny Omega at the G1 Special in San Francisco, loses that match, and finds himself HAVING to beat Nick Aldis at All In to have his own world championship. That story makes it much more interesting to me than Cody just winning the championship again and having a world championship already. Cody with his back against the wall having to put up or shut up at his own event with his ego still believing he is leading Bullet Club would be compelling storytelling for two months up to All In. Imagine the Being The Elite episodes with Kenny and Marty both having world championships and Cody feeling like he's being left out of all this greatness in the Bullet Club.

Bottom Line: The Villain Becomes The Champ. Woop Woop!

ROH Tag Team Championship
The Briscoes (c) vs. The Young Bucks
- Let's see here: The Briscoes have had the belts for a few months. But do the Bucks really need to be the team to beat them, considering the fact that they just won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships? Granted, the Bucks do not have to defend those titles after the G1 Special for another month as the G1 Climax will dominate the NJPW schedule. So, it's possible The Bucks could win, but I'm going with The Briscoes to retain the titles in a great match.

Flip Gordon vs. Bully Ray
- Bully Ray has disgraced Flip, calling him a coward, calling into question his military service, and picking on him for being a lightweight. It's pay back time as Bully puts over Flip, who is bound to steal the show at All In (if he's even booked, wink).

ROH Six Man Tag Team Championship
The Kingdom (c) vs. Los Ingobernables de Japon (Evil, Sanada, and Bushi)
- I would love to pick Los Ingobernables de Japon to win, but what's the point? Again, Evil and Sanada are in the G1. So, it doesn't make sense to put the titles on them. So, my prediction is going to be The Kingdom to retain in a fun six man match.

Eight-Woman Tag Team Match
Sumie Sakai, Jenny Rose, Mayu Iwatani, and Tenille Dashwood vs. Kelly Klein, Hazuki, Kagetsu, and Hanai Kimura
- I honestly do not know. I'm flipping a coin at home. Heads for Team Sakai, Tails for Team Klein. The coin is up.... And Team Klein gets the win!

Jay Lethal vs. KUSHIDA
- The series between the two is tied 1-1 over the last 4 years. This is going to be great like the other 2 matches were. Lethal is such a great wrestler for ROH and performs high level work night after night. KUSHIDA shines when given the time to tell a story and do his work. I'm going with Lethal to get the win to take the series at 2-1.

Baltimore Street Fight for the ROH World TV Championship
Punishment Martinez (c) vs. Adam Page
- This is going to be a war. They've built up the feud a lot over the past few weeks. Page is going to be in the G1. I have a hard time believing a company would have one of their champions unavailable for a month. So, just based on that, I'm going with Martinez to retain. (I could be completely wrong here.)

Kenny King vs. Austin Aries
- Former friends and partners turned enemies, this is going to be a good match. But it's a little weird since Aries technically works for Impact. So, this is a cross-promotional match in practice, even if it's not being promoted as such. That being said, I'm going with Aries.

Overall, I think this is going to be an awesome show. I will be sharing a post-show analysis on Saturday afternoon with my reactions to each match.

Until then, take care of yourselves and spread some awesomeness.

WWE Evolution Predictions + Thoughts on An Underpromoted All-Women PPV

Credit: WWE WWE Evolution Promotional Poster This should feel like a bigger deal. After all, this is the first time ever that an All-Women PPV is taking place under the WWE corporate umbrella. But WWE has done a great job of completely killing the show with an uninspired card, lack of promotion, lack of interest overall, and finding a million different other things to promote to undermine the event. Still, some fans (like myself) want to give the women their due and hope to enjoy this show. Here's a rundown of the card and my predictions for each match: 1) Raw Women's Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nikki Bella If this goes longer than 5 minutes, it's definitely too long. As good as Nikki can be in the ring (at times), Rousey should just absolutely massacre her. The only ways to prolong this match in a realistic way would be 1) an injury angle or 2) Twin Magic with Brie interfering. Otherwise, this should be short and awesome. Prediction: Ronda Retains 2)...

WWE TLC 2018 Review- Tables and Ladders and Chairs, Oh My!

HERE WE GO!    Pre-Show   1) WWE Cruiserweight Championship   Buddy Murphy (champ) vs. Cedric Alexander   They started this match early. Apparently, they wanted just as many fans in the arena as there usually are in 205 Live matches for this to give it the authentic feel.   The bell rings. A lot of tie-ups and switches to start up the match to a good reaction from the crowd. A Loud 205 Chant. Alexander takes down Murphy to the floor. Really good back and forth action here with both men moving quickly. Alexander catches Murphy with a dropkick for a 2 count. BIG KNEE to the head of Alexander sends him to the floor. Murphy flies off the top rope and hits a Meteora (maybe that’s what they were going for?) for a 2 count. Murphy has the advantage for a few moments, including a power choke on the corner on Alexander. He jumps off it to eat a SUPERKICK to the chest. Crowd seems invested in the matc...

WWE Super Show-Down 2018 Review: Last Time Ever Delivers + Some Other Solid Matches

Another big show in the WWE this year will happen today as WWE comes from Melbourne, Australia in front of 70,000 people. A lot of big matches are happening here. Let's Do This! No Pre-Show today. It's straight to the show. The new WWE opening takes place, and we get a WWE video package putting over the show and the LAST TIME EVER match. It looks like the Raw Announce Team will be calling the show. We go to the arena, and they've already spent more money on fireworks than they have for WWE programming this year. 70,309 in attendance. For once, the entrance way is understated. 1) SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship The Bar vs. The New Day (c) I wonder if Vince/WWE Management is ordering people to run the aisle tonight. Both tag teams were doing that coming to the ring.  Nice back and forth action with Kingston and Cesaro, along with Woods after getting the tag. Woods and Kingston had an awesome sequence of moves to start off. The Bar a minute later catches bot...
