Halftime Heat 2019
2/3/19

We get a highlight video highlighting how awesome NXT is, and for once, they were understating things. We see the show is actually coming from the actual WWE Performance Center.
HERE WE GO!

Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, and Aleister Black vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, and Adam Cole (Bay Bay!)
Special Guest Commentator: Shawn Michaels

Aleister Black comes out first with his smoke entrance. Ricochet similarly has his smoke and lighting going on. And you better believe the Velveteen Dream had his stuff going on too. The heels get their entrances too, including Ciampa holding on to Goldie for all that it is worth. "Johnny Halftime" chants.

The bell rings. Ricochet and Gargano start us off. A bunch of the counter wrestling and reversals we would expect from these two, but Ricochet ends it with a dropkick. . Gargano catches Ricochet with a low spinning kick. A tag to Adam Cole (BAY BAY!). Ricochet escapes Cole and tags in Aleister Black. Some great speed and pacing going on with these two with Black getting in several kicks. 2 count only though from that. Tag from Cole to Ciampa. Velveteen Dream tags in and goes right after Ciampa. God, Dream is so quick that I couldn't even type fast enough to write his moves.

BIG PUNT KICK BY CIAMPA! I can write that fast at least. Springboard Double Ax Handle by Dream to Ciampa. The faces all pose for the live crowd while the heels are on the floor needing to recover. The fight goes out to the floor, and Ciampa throws Dream around. Running boot to the head of Dream. Back in the ring, Dream is being attacked by Ciampa. Gargano tags himself in on Ciampa. Slingshot Spear by Gargano gets a 2. (Dream could have tagged out, but there was an obvious miscommunication there as he walked into the spot.)

Tag to Adam Cole, who gives us our Adam Cole BAY BAY! chant. Cole jumps off the corner into the superkick of Dream. Dream is holding his knee as he tags in Ricochet. Ricochet does his usual insane innovative offense on the heels. Springboard attack followed by a moonsault on Cole gets a 2. (Again, too quick. Lol.) Enziguri by Cole. Gargano is tagged in. Tag to Black by Ricochet. Black hits an Asai Moonsault to the former DIY. Another moonsault to Cole and Ciampa on the floor. Ricochet dives out . Black gets a German Suplex on Gargano for 2. (This is an incredible, blink-and-you-miss-it match.)

Tag to Dream. Ciampa and Gargano try to fight off the faces. The pace of these moves is unbelievable. DDT by Dream after about 3-4 dives and moves by others in this match! 2 count only. "THIS IS AWESOME!" YES IT IS! (I need a breather.) Tag to Ricochet by Dream. Gargano avoids a double team and turns Ricochet inside out with a lariat. Tag to Adam Cole. Ricochet fires off on both Cole and Gargano.  RICOCHET MOONSAULTS INTO THE SUPERKICK OF ADAM COLE! 2 count. Oh my God! This is insane!
Last Shot Misses. Roll-Up gets 2 for Ricochet. All 6 men are in the ring brawling! They milk the crowd for a moment and get back to fighting! Adam Cole is on the corner getting assaulted by Ricochet. Everyone gets move on others. Velveteen Dream and Ciampa fall to the floor. CANADIAN DESTROYER OFF THE CORNER BY COLE ON RICOCHET!!! 2 count! WHAT?!  (Panama Sunrise is what he calls it.)
Ricochet is left in the ring with the heels looking down at him. They signal for the superkicks! TRIPLE SUPERKICK! 1-2-BLACK SAVES THE MATCH! Black gets sent to the floor. Tag to Dream by Ricochet. Dream tells all three heels to bring it. Double Superkick to Dream. The faces beat up on Ciampa. Black Mass to Gargano! Dream Driver to Ciampa! Adam Cole gets Black Mass!!! Dream Driver! SPRINGBOARD 450 BY RICOCHET! PURPLE RAINMAKER ELBOW DROP! Adam Cole is done! 1-2-3!

Winners: Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, and Aleister Black
Match Grade: A+. I have no words, but I'll try. These guys just owned this time slot. From bell to bell, the athleticism displayed was second to none. The pacing, the execution, the action... They all cut promos promising to make a statement during Halftime Heat. They followed through with that promise and then some. If you didn't see this live... well, 1) I feel sorry for you. Lol. 2) You need to check this out.

Until next time, take care of yourselves. Spread some awesomeness.

WWE Evolution Predictions + Thoughts on An Underpromoted All-Women PPV

Credit: WWE WWE Evolution Promotional Poster This should feel like a bigger deal. After all, this is the first time ever that an All-Women PPV is taking place under the WWE corporate umbrella. But WWE has done a great job of completely killing the show with an uninspired card, lack of promotion, lack of interest overall, and finding a million different other things to promote to undermine the event. Still, some fans (like myself) want to give the women their due and hope to enjoy this show. Here's a rundown of the card and my predictions for each match: 1) Raw Women's Championship: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nikki Bella If this goes longer than 5 minutes, it's definitely too long. As good as Nikki can be in the ring (at times), Rousey should just absolutely massacre her. The only ways to prolong this match in a realistic way would be 1) an injury angle or 2) Twin Magic with Brie interfering. Otherwise, this should be short and awesome. Prediction: Ronda Retains 2)

WWE TLC 2018 Review- Tables and Ladders and Chairs, Oh My!

HERE WE GO!    Pre-Show   1) WWE Cruiserweight Championship   Buddy Murphy (champ) vs. Cedric Alexander   They started this match early. Apparently, they wanted just as many fans in the arena as there usually are in 205 Live matches for this to give it the authentic feel.   The bell rings. A lot of tie-ups and switches to start up the match to a good reaction from the crowd. A Loud 205 Chant. Alexander takes down Murphy to the floor. Really good back and forth action here with both men moving quickly. Alexander catches Murphy with a dropkick for a 2 count. BIG KNEE to the head of Alexander sends him to the floor. Murphy flies off the top rope and hits a Meteora (maybe that’s what they were going for?) for a 2 count. Murphy has the advantage for a few moments, including a power choke on the corner on Alexander. He jumps off it to eat a SUPERKICK to the chest. Crowd seems invested in the match. That’s a good sign. UnWrest Focus REWIND: Vader vs. Cactus Jack (WCW Halloween Havoc, 10/24/1993)

Spin the Wheel, Make The Deal. That was the gimmick going into this iconic match between two of the hardest hitting wrestlers of all time. It was the storyline months in development: Cactus Jack had just returned after Vader mauled him with a battery of injuries and a concussion to get his revenge. Vader, a merciless monster who delivers pain and punishment to all his vicitms, faced Cactus Jack, the one guy who would take Vader's assault and like the orphan Annie would ask for more. And if Vader wanted to brawl, no one could take Vader's offense and return it in spades quite like Cactus Jack. So, WCW billed the match as "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal." The idea being that the actual stipulation of the match would be determined on Halloween Havoc by the spin of a big wheel. (If only wrestling could take the "Big Wheel" from The Price is Right. And of course, we'd have to make sure it goes all the way around.) So, the wheel landed that night on a Texas D
