ROH HONOR FOR ALL Review (July 20, 2018)- Bucks/Addiction/Briscoes Match Saves Show

What's up everyone? I'm a little late to getting to this show with vacation and 10 nights of G1 action to follow, but I'm now getting to this ROH show. (Note: It was either this or Extreme Rules. And I heard Extreme Rules wasn't all that great. So, ROH won for me.)

I'm going in cold with no idea who is wrestling who, and I have no idea if this will set up anything for the future. With that in mind, HERE WE GO!!!!!

Remember, folks, this PPV is an exclusive property of Ring of Honor Wrestling.  Just keep that in mind as we go on. Thank You Obligatory Warning!

ROH PRESENTS HONOR FOR ALL LIVE FROM NASHVILLE! Triple Threat Tag Team match: Bucks vs. Briscoes vs. Addiction. PLUS Nick Aldis defends the NWA (?!) World Championship against Flip Gordon. First up is Scorpio Sky facing Punishment Martinez for the ROH World Televsion Championship.

1) ROH World Television Championship
Punishment Martinez (c) vs. Scorpio Sky

In a pre-recorded interview, Scorpio Sky promises Nashville they are going to see a World Title change. Um... the third guy in SCU is going to do that? Ok. In another pre-recorded interview, Punishment Martinez offers condolences to Scorpio Sky for getting the title shot as he is just going to get punished.

Punishment has a great look for a wrestler, but his work has been uneven at best. I liked his stuff with Adam Page back in Best of the World, but in normal 1-on-1 matches, he's been unimpressive to me. He's the type of guy I could see a Hardcore Championship being used for.

Scorpio Sky presses the attack early starting with a big knee. But Punishment's size and strength get too much of Sky in the early going. Sky continues to bring it to Punishment, but Punishment double stomps Sky in the corner as soon as Sky runs to him. Punishment continues to dominate here. For every blow that Sky gets in, Punishment has an aggressive answer. Running dives by Punishment into Sky in the corner. Massive Falcon Arrow by Martinez for a 2. Chin Lock now by Martinez. Sky fighting back now, hitting a double stomp on the back of a bent over Martinez. Sky HITS A HUGE RUNNING HURRICANRANA on Punishment sending him off the top turnbuckle to the mat. Punishment goes for a chokeslam, but Sky hits a sloppy Hurricanrana (or Martinez's roll through was sloppy). But Sky hits a senton splash over the top rope onto Martinez on the outside. Sky rolls Martinez back in. Slingshot DDT over the ropes by Sky on Martinez for 2. BIG CLOTHESLINE by Martinez. Brainbuster by Sky on the big man for a 2. Both men are on the apron. BIG kick to the back of the head by Martinez. Curb Stomp/Silencer by Martinez on Sky's head on the edge of the ring. Both men back in the ring now. Martinez hits another stomp, this time sending Sky's head into the bottom turnbuckle. Martinez hits South of Heaven/Chokeslam for the 3.

Winner: Punishment Martinez (STILL ROH WORLD TV CHAMPION)
Match Grade: D. I didn't care for this match at all. I know I'm watching this after watching 10 G1 shows, but this just wasn't a good mix of strength and aerial wrestling. Punishment needs to work on some things in order to reach that next level. Sky did a good job on his end, but no one honestly could buy him winning this championship.

2) Women of Honor Proving Ground: Karen Q vs. Sumie Sakai
**If Q wins, she gets a future Women of Honor Championship Match against Sakai.**

Q refuses to shake hands in the beginning and instead attacks Sakai with a forearm. Shoulder tackles in the corner by Q. Running forearm into the corner by Q. But Sakai follows up with a running bulldog off the ropes. Sakai climbs up the rope and hits a dropkick off the top! 2 only though. Running Hair-Mare by Q. Q takes her into the corner to begin work. Takes her up for a suplex and connects for a 2. Headlock by Q. Snap-Mare over by Sukai, but she's immediately taken back down by Q for a 2. Q now just kicks at Sumai's head. Continued attack by Q here throwing Sakai into the corner and executing multiple runs of clotheslines and a big kick finally.

Q picks up Sakai and puts her on the top rope. Q goes for a superplex, but Sakai gets out, pushes Q off the ropes, and executes a crossbody. Crowd sounds alive finally. Sakai starts attacking Q. Neckbreaker by Sakai for a 2. Full Nelson Slam by Q for a 2. (Why am I imagining John deLancie wrestling Sakai?) Boston Crab on Sakai by Q. She lets go at 4 after Sakai gets to the ropes. Toe to the eye of Sakai. Sakai goes for a rana, but Q catches her. Q hits a Buckle Bomb and fails to beat Sakai. She goes out to get a chair. The referee grabs the chair to get rid of it. Q takes the championship, throws it at Sakai, and tries to get the referee to DQ Sakai. But the referee doesn't do it, and Sakai gets the win with a rollup.

Winner: Sumie Sakai.
Match Grade: F. This was sloppy as hell and uninteresting. They ask "What's next for Karen Q?" I can honestly say I could care less. DO NOT WATCH THIS MATCH!

3) Four Way Match: Kenny King vs. Shane Taylor vs. Chris Saban vs. Jonathan Gresham
This might be really good. But answer this for me: Which one of these is not like the other? Taylor is 310lbs going up against glorified Crusierweights. Ok. King is 232lbs. I stand corrected. Also, this is before Alex Shelley announced his retirement this past week. So, it's kind of weird to hear them talk about Shelley coming back when he retired not long after.

Taylor only handshakes with Kenny King, refusing to shake any one else's hand. 2 men start in the ring apparently. Gresham and Sabin start. Both men starting with mat grappling, down Gresham's alley in terms of his wrestling style. Really cool exchange here to start the match with both men countering and flipping through each other's attempts. Cool chain wrestling to begin this. Gresham tags King, Sabin to Taylor. Both men handshake and attack the men in the corner! Both give a sign for The Rebellion, the group they were formerly a part of. Taylor then decks King. King coming off the ropes with attacks on Taylor. Gresham tags King, runs in, and begins working on Taylor's knee. All four men in now. King gets kicked to the outside. Sabin and Gresham trying to beat down on Taylor. Taylor catches Gresham off the top rope and a crossbody is blocked from Sabin. Samoan Drop/Fallaway Slam by Taylor on both Gresham and Sabin.

Taylor now beating on the much smaller Gresham. Gresham with a headbutt and chops to Taylor, who belts Gresham in the mouth. Sleeper Hold on Taylor by Gresham, but Taylor flips him over and NAILS a big splash. Sabin and King break up the pinfall attempt. Taylor goes back to work on Gresham again. Big forearm to Gresham now. Sidewalk Slam avoided by Gresham who orbits around Taylor and locks in a sleeper hold.  Sabin and King break it up too. Full Nelson by Taylor escaped by Gresham again who locks in another sleeper hold. Gresham jumps off the middle rope and tries to hit a hurricanrana, but Taylor overpowers him and DRILLS him with a powerbomb.
King and Sabin tagged in. Sabin with mule and thrust kicks at King. PK kick now by Sabin. Back elbow into the corner on King. SPINEBUSTER by King on Sabin for a 2. Fireman's Carry by King escaped by Sabin. King gets on the apron only to get literally TAGGED in the face by Taylor who is now legal. That's a hell of a tag. Sabin hits an enziguri on Taylor. He tries to pick up Taylor and hurts himself. He escapes a hit by Taylor by getting a tornado DDT in. Gresham tagged in. He runs at Taylor with multiple hits and eventually connects with a running dropkick into the corner on Taylor for a 1 count. Taylor picks up Gresham on his shoulders. Sabin crossbodies him again. Just like last time, Taylor catches Sabin again. But UNLIKE LAST TIME, King SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE TOP ROPE AND NAILS A BLOCKBUSTER ON TAYLOR SENDING ALL THREE OF KING'S OPPONENTS TO THE MAT! King and Sabin hit an AA on Taylor. King sends Sabin out and misses a dive at Sabin onto the floor. Taylor rocks Sabin wtih an uppercut and NAILS A BIG CANNONBALL on Sabin and King on the floor! Both men sent to the guard rail now. This is getting good. Gresham DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES AND LOCKS IN A SLEEPER ON TAYLOR on the outside!!!!

Taylor is climbing back into the ring with Gresham on his friggin back!!!!! He falls back and crushes Gresham, but Gresham won't let go!!! Taylor passes out!!! The referee calls it!!! GRESHAM WINS!!!!

Winner: Jonathan Gresham
Match Grade: B-. This was a fun match. All four men delivered in producing an entertaining match. Taylor did his part very well as the big man all three opponents had to deal with. Sabin was his usual solid self as was King. Gresham continues to be impressive and stands out due to his unique wrestling style.

4) Bully Ray vs. Chuckie T- This may be an ugly one. Can we put Bully Ray with The Tongans? They seem to be fit for each other's gimmick at this point.
Bully gets a mic before the match starts. He talks about how this match is being advertised on Twitter and the intrigue going into it. Bully has no problem with Chuckie T, but he has problems with the Young Boys who don't pay their dues. Chuckie T has been wrestling for 16 years and has paid his dues, according to Bully. And he's a fan apparently. They are alike: Chuckie T came from PWG which was like Bully's former company ECW. Bully says he's happy to wrestle him. He hands the mic to Chuckie T. Chuckie T says he appreciates all the kind things he said. But he says he's no idiot as he's seen what Bully has done to everyone. He, like everyone, wants Bully to leave. He calls Bully a few unflattering things and tells him where to shove his praise. (And like that, Bully walks away and puts himself through a table never to return again. You know better. The match is on.)

Bully and Chuckie exchange punches early on. Chuckie has Bully in the corner delivering punches. Bully throws him off. Bully eats a big dropkick off the ropes by Chuckie T. Chuckie hugs Bully to mock him, and he nails a knee off the ropes at him. Chuckie climbs the ropes, but Bully throws the referee into the ropes to cause Chuckie to crotch himself on the top turnbuckle. The referee threatens to DQ him, which Bully responds to by kicking Chuckie through the uprights. He gets the DQ and pushes the referee down for good measure. Bully attacks Chuckie with the chain again and again. Colt Cabana runs from the announce position and begins punching at Bully, who responds by clotheslining him with the chain. Bully attacks Colt with the chain for his trouble. Nice guy Bully goes back to Chuckie to make sure he doesn't get forgotten. BARETTA is back to save his BEST FREIEND!!! SPEAR by Baretta on Bully. Bully runs out the ring and starts chucking chairs into the ring. He flips over the table at ringside. Bully walks to the back. Baretta and Chuckie T hug in the ring.

Winner: Chuckie T
Match Grade: F-- (DUD). This wasn't even a match, and the storyline is not even interesting at this point either. Bully just needs to go away. It's not actual heat either. It's go away heat, which is not good heat. (By the way, I never understood people who said "Any heat is good heat." Why wasn't X-Pac a world champion then? And how did that Jinder Mahal work out for WWE's pet project of expanding into India? And where's the merchandise for Roman Reigns since his heat from the audience is apparently the good kind? Trying to find Roman Reigns merch in FYE is like looking for the Ark of the Covenant: It's hard to find. And once you do, you just want God to melt you away. End rant.)

5) The Dawgs, Beer City Bruiser, and Silas Young vs.  Cheeseburger, Eli Isom, Ryan Nova, and FR Josie
The Cheeseburger team has a combined weight of 690-some pounds. I have no idea who his partners are. FR Josie and Rhett Titus start out. Titus gains the advantage early on for his team. Rollup by Josie for a 1. Atomic drop by Josie, followed by an inverted one. Dropkick. Josie looks like Drew McIntyre stopped working out and moved back to Scotland. Silas Young is in and begins working on Josie.  Josie tags in Isom. Silas with a headlock now on Isom. Multiple leapfrogs by Isom, but Silas holds the ropes eventually and catches him with a clothesline. Will Ferrara in the ring now, but he gets a Release Northern Lights Suplex for his trouble. Nova is tagged in and works with Isom on some moves in the corner. Nova tags in Cheeseburger, but Ferrera tags in Beer City Bruiser. Talk about a mismatch. Bruiser eats Cheeseburger with a clothesline and some fries. Cheeseburger avoids getting squashed by Cheeseburger. Double Ax Handle off the ropes by Burger on Beer. Another one by Burger on Beer. Burger charges Beer in the corner. Burger tries to Irish Whip Beer. (So have the Irish, I'm sure.) Burger tags in Josie, who tags in Isom to try and Irish Whip Beer.  All four men in the ring Irish Whip Beer and they finally get him to the corner. All four men attack Beer in the corner, but Silas helps Beer stop the attack by hooking a leg allowing a big splash and Vader Bomb for a 2 by the Bruiser.  Silas tagged in and hits a slingshot stomp on Nova. The heels are taking turns tagging in and out attacking Nova. Silas tells Nova to fight him like a man, which Nova tries to do. But one forearm by Silas knocks Nova down. Nova catches Silas in the corner and hits a bulldog-like takedown to put him down. Burger and Tutus now the legal men. Tilt-a-Whirl Inverted DDT by Burger for a 2. Isom tags in and nails a springboard dropkick on Titus. He fights off the Bruiser, but The Dawgs come in to double team him. He gets a bridging pin on Titus for a close 2. Nova now tagged back in. Nova with a knee on Titus but he gets DDTed by Bruiser. Shou-tai by Burger to two of the heels. Burger escapes Misery but eats a combination by Silas. Josie comes in and is the legal man. He escapes Misery. Josie gets powerbombed by Silas and eats a splash by the apparently now legal Beer City Bruiser for the pinfall.

Winner: The Dawgs, Bruiser, and Young
Match Grade: D-. I'm not liking this show thus far, folks. This was not just confusing, but it was boring. I'm only giving it a pass because there was an effort made to actually tell a story.

6) Matt Taven vs. Marty Scurll- First Time Ever 1 on 1 Match.
Taven walks out in casual clothes and sunglasses. He rags on ROH for not recognizing him as the real World Champion, and he claims to have the real world championship in his hands. But he won't show it to a trash town like Nashville. Scurll is a "melvin" who doesn't deserve to face a champion like Taven. Instead, Scurll will face Taven's "Horror King" from The Kingdom, Vinny Marseglia. Marty comes out to his original theme, not the one introduced in Best of the World. Apparently, that was a 1 off.

NEW 6) Vinny Marseglia vs. Marty Scurll

Clown Masks and Balloons vs. Beak Masks and Umbrellas. It's a match between two very unique characters within their own stables. Taven is still talking about conspiracies at the announce table. "Let's Go Marty" chants for The Villain. Push off by both men. Scurll wrenches the arm which Marseglia reverses. Scurll with the headlock. Scurll with a shoulder tackle. Dropkick by Marseglia who continues to attack Scurll in the corner. Scurll uses his British style wrestling to maneuver around Vinny for a rollup for 2. Marty now gets Vinny ready for a Mexican surfboard, but he settles for the stomps to the knees instead. Chops by Vinny now followed by an uppercut. Suplex blocked into an arm takedown by Scurll. Vinny goes under the ring and trips Scurll from behind on the apron. He starts ramming Scurll into the guard rails. Suplex on the outside by Vinny, who follows up by pulling a corner off of the mat covering the floor. Scurll attacks Vinny here with chops away from the concrete exposure. Vinny rolls Marty back into the ring. Vinny sweeps Marty's legs off the middle rope to the mat and begins working on The Villain. Vinny has the balloon now and POPS it in Marty's ear. Slam by Vinny followed by a chinlock. Marty trying to fight Vinny off by reversing a Butterfly lock and nailing a lungblower.

Vinny goes over the top rope. Marty hits the kick from the apron to the temple of Vinny. Both men in the ring. Face slap and forearm by Marty. Vinny climbs to the top rope, but Marty catches him. He climbs up and nails a SUPERPLEX on Marseglia. 1-2-Kickout. Tornado DDT blocked by Marseglia who nails a "tilt-a-whirl?" Russian leg sweep for a 2. Chop x 2 for Vinny followed by two running forearms in the corner. Clothesline by Marty. He's feeling it. Marty gives up a suplex due to back pain. He again tries and fails to suplex. "YOU CAN DO IT" chant from the fans. He does it with a brainbuster to boot, but it only gets a 2. Chops exchanged by both men. Vinny gets the advantage, but Scurll kicks the knee, stomps the hands, and teases breaking the fingers. Vinny rolls him up for 2. Vinny hits a Sling Blade and a midrope headbutt for 2. "Marty" chants from the crowd.
Backbreaker by Vinny. Scurll is in the corner now. Vinny picks up Scurll, but Scurll turns it into a delayed snap brainbuster/piledriver combination for a 2. Fast exchange by both men. Vinny gets Marty down, climbs the top rope, but eats the knees in the back from a Swanton attempt. CROSSFACE CHICKEN WING!!!!! SCURLL HAS HIM! VINNY TAPS!

Winner: Marty Scurll
Match Grade: C. Marty did the best with what he had to work with. It wasn't a great match by any stretch of the imagination, but it was better than a couple of the other trainwrecks I've had to sit through to review this show. Lol.

After the match, Taven runs in as does TK O'Ryan to attack Marty. They go for their team finish, but Cody runs in with a chair who starts attacking Taven. But the numbers are too great. Scurll and Cody are fighting off The Kingdom, and the security are in to break it up. There's more security than there are wrestlers in this promotion. Lol. TK and Cody stay in the ring, and the referee is calling for the bell.

7) TK O'Ryan vs. Cody

Exchange of punches and chops in the ring. Cody with a snap slam on Ryan. Cody with a front suplex faceplant on Ryan. Ryan goes outside the ring. HEY, IT'S CONRAD THOMPSON AT RINGSIDE!!!! I guess this isn't Rumor and Innuendo then! Brandi and Burnard The Business Bear come to ringside. Cody is telling Ryan to get back in the ring, but Ryan takes his time. Cody chases him back in the ring, and Cody attacks with chops and slaps. Big back bodydrop by Cody. Ryan now coming back with attacks on Cody including chops in the corner. Cody gets Ryan back outside. Cody goes to dive off the top rope at Ryan, but as he's diving, Ryan puts Brandi in front of him. Cody stops himself, but Ryan takes advantage of even more faked assaults on Brandi and gets Cody down by using the ringpost. Then, Ryan beats up on Burnard. He even goes after Conrad Thompson at ringside in a joking fashion. HEY! THAT MAN KNOWS BRUCE PRICHARD, DANG IT!

Back in the ring, Ryan goes to work on Cody in the corner. Ryan flexes for the crowd before suplexing Cody for a 2. "Let's Go Cody" chants. Ryan teases a big move, but instead, he tells the crowd what to do with themselves that night and hooks in a headlock. Cody gets up, but Ryan continues the attack. Cody locks in a Figure 4 out of nowhere. Ryan goes for the ropes, but he actually dragged himself further into the ring than he needed to. But he grabs the ropes anyways. Exchange of blows by both men. Cody is rocked by a right hand. Pele Kick by Ryan to Cody. Ryan now mocking Cody and spits on him. Cody is now hyped up and mounting his comeback. Beautiful Disaster Kick (followed by a slap by Brandi) and a dive through the ropes from Cody. Slap from Cody to Ryan now.

Both men back in the ring. Cody climbs to the top. Ryan throws the ref into the ropes, crotching Cody on the top turnbuckle. Ryan climbs up the top going for a superplex but nails a PowerSlam instead off the top for a 2. Ryan working on Cody in another corner now. Cody fighting out. Ryan with a knee lift on Cody and an uppercut. Ryan gets Brandi angry and grabs his 6-Man Tag Championship. He drills Cody. 1-2-Kickout by Cody. Ryan gets rolled up for a 2. CROSS RHODES! 1-2-3.

Winner: "The American Nightmare" Cody
Match Grade: C+. An average night for Cody and Ryan. There was nothing memorable about any of this. But it was still better than a lot of the other stuff that's been on this show.

After the match, Burnard the Business Bear shakes hands with Conrad Thompson. I wonder what Jim Cornette would say about that.

8) NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Nick Aldis (c) vs. Flip Gordon

Cody stays out to call the match on commentary. (Side Note: I'm rooting for the NWA to make a comeback. I know it's a dead brand, but at least now, someone is trying to do something with it. And with their association with All In, it could be the platform they need to get just a little bit of attention thrown back at them. Think of it like this: ROH, New Japan, and NWA talent are all coming together for this All In show in September. It is basically The Elite taking their superstardom and trying to get these other companies over while giving something back to the fans. It's a great business move, and I hope everyone comes out of this a winner.)

Cody talks about how important the title was to his family and his father, in particular. Flip flips through a wristlock, but he has some struggles facing the much bigger Aldis to start off the match. Aldis is so deceptively big, but Flip isn't exactly the biggest guy either. Flip gets Aldis off of him and gets into his face, saying "I'm winning this championship because I'm going to be All In." Sure you are. Aldis with kicks in the corner to Flip. Aldis taking advantage here, even as Flip attacks with a crossbody. Aldis just grabs Flip and executes a delayed suplex. Cody tells the announce team that Flip isn't in All In because he's too young and not experienced. Cody says he (himself) started off too young, and he doesn't want Flip to have too much too soon like he did. Flip continues to have the advantage on Flip with a chinlock. Fallaway slam by Aldis x2.  (Side Note: Hard to believe this guy was in the British Invasion in TNA ten years ago. Now, he's the NWA World Champion.) Another chin lock by Aldis. Flip finally gets Aldis off of him with a jawbreaker, but Aldis locks in a half-Boston Crab. This match is boring. Just saying.

Aldis climbs the ropes, but Flip catches him with a kick knocking him to the outside. Flip dives through the ropes at Aldis and throws him back in the ring. Springboard dropkick by Flip. "Flip" chant by the audience. Running dropkick in the corner by Flip. Springboard Spear on the middle rope by Flip. Crossface now. Aldis rolls over, but Flip holds on. Aldis uses his superior body size to get to the ropes with relative ease. Flip flips under a clothesline and hits a Pele kick. Samoan Pop by Flip followed by a Running Shooting Star Press followed by a Top Rope Moonsault from the corner for a 2. Flip argues with the referee, but it wasn't even that close. Kick to the face of Aldis. Flip climbs up to the top. 450 blocked with the knees. Aldis with a piledriver. Aldis climbs the rope and hits the elbow to the heart for 3.

But there are other refs point out the Flip's foot was on the bottom rope. Cody is now with the referees arguing the case. The referee tells the ring announcer that the match is restarted. Aldis is arguing with the referees now as he comes back to the ring. Flip gets up, and he hits a big senton over the ropes. Superkick by Gordon. Springboard stunner by Flip for a 2. 1-2-kickout. Fans: THAT WAS 3. Me: No it wasn't. Gordon goes for another slingshot senton flip using the ropes, but Aldis misses. Flip is holding his knee. Aldis gets up and eventually hits a double powerbomb. Flip gets out at 2 only for Aldis to turn it into a Cloverleaf submission. Aldis sits down on it. Flip is fighting, but he passes out from the pain in a ridiculously quick fashion. (He pressed up in the move and then just suddenly collapsed.)

Winner: Nick Aldis (Still NWA World Champion)
Match Grade: C-. It was ok. It wasn't anything great as there was no shot that Flip was going to win this championship on a non-NWA show. The action wasn't exactly that great either for a good portion of the match. I was frankly bored with the first 3/4 of it.

Aldis shakes Flips hand after the bell, and Cody and Aldis help Flip up. Fans: ALL IN! ALL IN! ALL IN! Cody holds Flips arm up. Cody walks away, and Flip hears the crowd chant his name.
Here comes Bully Ray again to low blow Flip. "You remember me Flip? Because I didn't forget about you. What happened to your big chance? Keep trying to get booked on that show. Don't you forget about me. YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" Bully goes after Ian at the announce table. He and Caprice run off from Bully.

9) Three Way Tag Team Match: The Young Bucks vs. The Addiction vs. The Briscoes
Can this match save this show? Good question. If I depended on any three teams in this company to do something to save a show, they are in the main event. I'll say that.

We're starting off with Daniels and Mark Briscoe. Daniels with a chop and a dropkick to Briscoe. Tag to Kazarian by Daniels who continue to work on Mark Briscoe. Briscoe eventually tags in Nick Jackson. Nick flips on Kazarian's back and goes for a headlock. Early superkick avoided by Kazarian and a standoff leads to the Briscoes coming in and mauling everyone. Double shoulder tackle by the Briscoes to Daniels. Bucks with a springboard dropkick on the Briscoes. Backflip dropkick on Kazarian. Neckbreaker flip into a backbreaker by The Bucks on Daniels now. Daniels rams the Bucks' heads together, but the Bucks double team on Daniels. Matt yelled for the Superkick Party, but Jay Briscoe tags himself in and disposes of Matt. Jay and Kazarian legal. Cool spot with Kazarian hitting a Northern Light Suplex on Jay while having a rollup on Mark. (I'm sorry in advance for
having a hard time calling the action here. They are moving at a good pace.)

Kazarian is worked over in the corner by The Briscoes. Frequent tags by The Briscoes keeping Kazarian isolated from any tags. Double whip into the neutral corner followed by corner clotheslines and a running corner boot for a 2. Kazarian trying to fight out of the situation, but The Briscoes are having none of it. Again, Kazarian isolated in the corner. Irish whip by the Briscoes fails and the Bucks get tagged in. They're off to the races. Kicks and dives aplenty here. Bucks on the apron with a double sunset flip and CEASE AND DESIST Sharpshooters on The Briscoes. The Addiction eat the first superkicks of the night. Flips through the ropes on one side to The Addiction and The Briscoes on the others. Uranage by Mark Briscoe (no! You're an ag-e!) stops the momentum. Bucks start coming back with superkicks. Pele by Mark Briscoe. Angel's Wings to Mark Briscoe. SUPERKICK AND SHARPSHOOTER by Nick Jackson to Daniels. Daniels crawls over to pin Mark while in the Sharpshooter, but he only gets a 2 after Nick breaks the hold and stops him. Phew!!!

Jay working on the Bucks. Blue Thunder Reverse Cutter by the Addiction. Double Superkick . Slingshot cutter by Kazarian in the ring. Dive by Kazarian to the outside to Matt, but he eats a superkick from Nick. Best Moonsault Ever to Jay in the ring by Daniels gets a 2 but is broken up by a Nick Jackson superkick! "This is Awesome" from the fans. (Compared to the rest of this show, they're right.) Spiccoli Driver by Jay Briscoe to Daniels. Mark tagged in. Mark eats another uranage. (NO! You're an Ag-e!) Springboard Doomsday by Nick and Jay?! The alliance doesn't last long as The Briscoes dispose of Nick. A pinning attempt on Daniels only gets a 2. Nick with a springboard facebuster on Mark anda  backflip on Daniels. Cannonball by Mark. Senton splash by Jay! Nick with a running top rope Corkscrew Plancha!!!! MELTZER DRIVER! 1-2-3. The Bucks have pinned Mark Briscoe, one half of the ROH Tag Team Champions!

Winner: The Young Bucks
Match Grade: B+. These three teams each brought it to this match and in 18 minutes saved what had been a boring 3 hours up to this point. The match was fast-paced and great for a house show style match. This wasn't meant to be a PPV quality match, but the Bucks, Briscoes, and Addiction didn't seem to care if it was a house show or not. They worked up to a certain level to entertain everyone, and it worked.

Show Rating: D+. I'm giving it a + simply for the main event. However the rest of the show was boring for the most part (I'll give a nod to the Four Way match as it was entertaining as well). The show simply had no reason to exist. Nothing was furthered from this other than the Bucks pinned the ROH Tag Team Champions in the main event. That's it. Avoid this show, but, if you want a fun 20 minute match, tune in for the main event.

A Couple of Additional Notes To Ponder
- Crowd was definitely lacking on this show. You could see complete sections of empty seats in the stands. While ROH is doing better as a company, they need to do more to get butts in the seats.
- Here's an idea for All In: Bully Ray and The Guerrillas of Destiny vs. Flip Gordon and The Golden Lovers. Bully would fit right in with the G.O.D. (He did train them after all), and Flip teaming with Kota and Kenny would be a fun three man team as well.
- Nick Aldis is just as boring as I remembered him being in TNA.
- I did like the sequence of events where Cody came out to help Marty fight off The Kingdom, Cody had his match, and then Cody helped commentate the Aldis match. It made for a good connection between the three segments.

Well, that'll do it for this review. Leave any comments and thoughts below. Remember to check out the G1 Coverage on this blog. I've already covered the first 10 shows and posted a Half-Time Report. This week continues the long march to August 12th. Hope you join in and share with any wrestling friends you have.

Until next time, take care of yourselves. And spread some awesomeness.

UnWrest Focus REWIND: Vader vs. Cactus Jack (WCW Halloween Havoc, 10/24/1993)

Spin the Wheel, Make The Deal. That was the gimmick going into this iconic match between two of the hardest hitting wrestlers of all time. It was the storyline months in development: Cactus Jack had just returned after Vader mauled him with a battery of injuries and a concussion to get his revenge. Vader, a merciless monster who delivers pain and punishment to all his vicitms, faced Cactus Jack, the one guy who would take Vader's assault and like the orphan Annie would ask for more. And if Vader wanted to brawl, no one could take Vader's offense and return it in spades quite like Cactus Jack. So, WCW billed the match as "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal." The idea being that the actual stipulation of the match would be determined on Halloween Havoc by the spin of a big wheel. (If only wrestling could take the "Big Wheel" from The Price is Right. And of course, we'd have to make sure it goes all the way around.) So, the wheel landed that night on a Texas D

WCW Spring Stampede 1994 Review- WCW At Its Best + Flair/Steamboat In Another Classic

It's WCW in early 1994. We're now working up the hype for the eventual debut of Hulk Hogan to the company. This seems like the final last gasp of what WCW was prior to Hogan's debut with the company. Tonight, we are getting WCW World Champion Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat 5 years after their classic feud (covered on UnWrest Focus earlier).
